The Homeside Activities program is designed to help teachers build greater connections between school and home, as well as to promote greater home language use in the family. First, each activity is introduced in the classroom. Then the activity is sent home, as an invitation for children and adults to share their ideas and experiences in the home language. Follow-up classroom activities enrich and personalizes the school curriculum by encouraging students to share their family stories and conversations with each other. This program was created for schoolwide use, including both bilingual and English-language classrooms.

Each grade-level book consists of 18 blackline masters in both English and Spanish, as well as teacher pages for each activity.
